Conditions:
1. You must provide the GDC, within seven days, the contact details and arrangements for any appointment you accept or are currently undertaking which requires GDC registration.
2. You must allow the GDC to exchange information with your employer or any organisation for which you are contracted to provide dental services, or any Workplace Supervisor referred to in these conditions.
3. From the date that these conditions take effect, you must inform the GDC within seven days of being notified of:
i. Any formal disciplinary action taken against you;
ii. Any NHS investigation;
iii. Any regulatory or enforcement action taken against you or a practice for which you are the registered provider;
iv. Any patient complaint received about your clinical practice or conduct at work.
4. You must inform the GDC, within seven days of these conditions taking effect, if you are registered with any overseas regulator (or equivalent authority) or within seven days of making an application for registration with any overseas regulator or equivalent authority.
5. At any time, you are employed to provide dental services which require you to be registered with the GDC, you must remain under the close supervision* of a Workplace Supervisor nominated by you and approved by the GDC. The Workplace Supervisor must be a GDC registered dentist with at least 5 years of experience. You may have more than one Workplace Supervisor.
6. Where the Workplace Supervisor is unavailable through illness, planned or unplanned absence, you must not work. You must not work, unless you have another Workplace Supervisor approved by the GDC who is able to cover the absence period.
7. You must not start/restart work until your proposed Workplace Supervisor has been approved by the GDC.
8. You must not work as a locum or undertake any out-of-hours work or on-call duties.
9. You must not:
i. Take any dental radiographs;
ii. Sign documents relating to the training of others
iii. Work beyond your scope of practice;
iv. Assist in any sedation procedures.
10. You must provide confirmation in writing that you have not carried out the types of treatment listed in condition 9 and submit this statement signed by your Workplace Supervisor every 3 months and 14 days prior to any review hearing.
11. You must provide reports from your Workplace Supervisor to the GDC every 3 months and at least 14 days prior to any review hearing. The reports should cover the following areas of practice:
i. Confirmation that you have not taken any dental radiographs;
ii. Confirmation that you have not signed documents relating to the training of others;
iii. Confirmation that you have not worked beyond your scope of practice;
iv. Confirmation that you have not assisted in any sedation procedures;
v. Details of any complaints or concerns raised by patients and/or staff against you.
12. You must stop working immediately if your Workplace Supervisor directs you to do so, and you must inform the GDC within seven days of receiving this direction.
13. You must present your Workplace Supervisor with a copy of this determination within 7 days of them being approved and provide the GDC with written evidence that this has been done within 7 days.
14. You must inform within seven days, the following parties that your registration is subject to the conditions listed at 1 to 13 and provide evidence to the GDC that you have done so, :
i. Any organisation or person employing you or who has an arrangement with you to undertake dental work.
ii. Any professional regulatory body you are registered with or apply to be registered with (at the time of application).
iii. Any prospective employer (at the time of application).
15. You must permit the GDC to disclose the above conditions, (1) to (14), to any person requesting information about your registration status.
Workplace Supervisor
A workplace supervisor will oversee the registrant’s day-to-day clinical work. Workplace supervisors review the clinical practice of the registrant throughout the period of supervision and provide feedback to the GDC. Postgraduate dental deans or their nominated deputies do not appoint, identify, or manage workplace supervisors. The workplace supervisor must agree to provide reports to the GDC at the intervals specified in the registrant’s conditions or undertakings. The reports should include information about:
• The registrant’s clinical performance.
• One-to-one meetings and case-based discussions.
• The registrant’s progress towards remediation.
• Any concerns regarding the registrant, their practice, or their progress towards
• remediation (where applicable).
• Any specific areas of concern listed in the conditions or undertakings.
*Closely supervised: the workplace supervisor must supervise the registrant’s day-to-day work in a way prescribed in the relevant condition or undertaking. The workplace supervisor must always be on site and available when the registrant is working. Where the workplace supervisor is unavailable through illness or planned absence, the registrant must not work unless an approved alternative workplace supervisor is in place.
The workplace supervisor must review the registrant’s work at least twice a week in one-to-one meetings using case-based discussions. These meetings must focus on all areas of concern identified by the conditions or undertakings. These meetings can be in person or via video conferencing.
Registration History:
On 31 March 2026, the Interim Orders Committee imposed conditions on Ms Oppong-Brown's registration for a period of 15 months. This will be reviewed in 6 months.
