Conditions:
1. He must notify the GDC within 7 days of any post he accepts for which GDC registration is required and the Commissioning Body on whose Dental Performers List he is included.
2. If employed, he must provide the contact details of his employer(s) to the GDC within 7 days and allow the GDC to exchange information with his employer(s) or any contracting body/bodies for which he provides dental services.
3. He must inform the GDC within 7 days of any formal or informal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.
4. He must inform the GDC within 7 days of any complaints made against him from the date of this determination.
5. He must inform the GDC within 7 days from the date of application, if he applies for dental employment outside the UK.
6. At any times he is present at his place(s) of work, or at any work event, where practice staff (save for any chaperone(s) approved by the GDC) are present, he must have a chaperone with him at all times. He must provide the name and full contact details of any proposed chaperone(s) to the GDC within 7 days. Any chaperone should be a GDC Registrant and be approved by the GDC. Any chaperone must submit signed confirmation to the GDC confirming that they consent to act in the role.
7. He must allow the GDC to exchange information about his conditions with any chaperone.
8. He must ensure that any chaperone is notified of the conditions. He must provide evidence of this to the GDC within seven days of any chaperone being approved.
9. He must ensure that every member of the dental team, employee(s) and any dental students at the practice(s)/hospital(s)/clinic(s) where he works are notified of the conditions and provide evidence that this has been done within 14 days.
10. He must permit other members of the dental team, employee(s) and any dental students at the practice(s) /hospital(s)/clinic(s), where he works and/or any chaperone to contact the GDC immediately if they are concerned about his fitness to practise and/or compliance with these conditions.
11. At any time he is providing dental services, which require him to be registered with the GDC, he must agree to the appointment of a reporter nominated by him and approved by the GDC. The reporter shall be a GDC registrant in the same category as the registrant (or higher). The reporter shall work in the same practice as the Registrant.
12. The Reporter may be a Chaperone.
13. He must provide a report from the reporter to the GDC every 2 months and at least 14 days prior to any review hearing. This report should include:
i. Confirmation of compliance from any chaperone(s) with condition 6 above;
ii. Confirmation of compliance with these conditions;
iii. Details of any complaints received and their resolution;
iv. Any other relevant information.
14. He must allow the GDC to exchange information about his conditions with any reporter.
15. He shall not contact any female work colleagues outside their working environment.
16. He must not engage in single-handed dental practice.
17. He must not provide dental services work as a locum or out-of-hours.
18. He must inform within 1 week the following parties that his registration is subject to the conditions, listed at (1) to (17), above and provide written evidence to the GDC within 7 days from the date of this determination:
a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake dental work;
b. any prospective employer (at the time of application);
c. all members of staff at his place of work; and,
d. any Commissioning Body in whose Dental Performers List he is included or seeking inclusion (at the time of application).
19. He must permit the GDC to disclose the above conditions, (1) to (18), to any person requesting information about his registration status.
Registration History:
At a review hearing on 9 June 2025, the Interim Orders Committee revoked the suspension on Mr Parekh's registration and imposed conditions for the remainder of the original 12 month order. This interim is due to expire on 25 June 2025 and the GDC will be applying to the High Court for an extension of it. In the event that such an application is granted, the order will be reviewed in accordance with the GDC's statutory requirements.
