Conditions:
1. She must notify the GDC within 7 days of this determination of any post she accepts for which GDC registration is required, and the Commissioning Body on whose Dental Performers List she is included.
2. If employed, she must provide contact details of her employer to the GDC within 7 days of this determination and allow the GDC to exchange information with her employer or any contracting body for which she provides dental services.
3. She must inform the GDC within 7 days of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against her, from the date of this determination.
4. She must inform the GDC within 7 days of any complaints made against her from the date these conditions take effect.
5. She must inform the GDC within 7 days from the date of this determination if she applies for dental employment outside the UK within 7 days of application.
6. She must not engage in single handed dental practice.
7. At any time, she is employed, or providing dental services, which require her to be registered with the GDC; she must place himself and remain under the close supervision* of a workplace supervisor** nominated by her and approved by the GDC. The workplace supervisor shall be a GDC registrant in the same category of the register as the registrant or higher.
8. She must not carry out any treatment that involves oral surgery, including adult teeth extractions and implant surgery.
9. She must make personal contact with the workplace supervisor in advance of the first session of each working day, to discuss the treatments to be carried out that day, and before she commences treatment of any patients.
10. She must not start or restart work until her workplace supervisor has been approved by the GDC.
11. She must present the workplace supervisor with a copy of this determination and a copy of the papers placed before this Committee. She must provide written evidence to the GDC of having done so within 7 days of the workplace supervisor being approved.
12. She must permit the GDC and the workplace supervisor to exchange information.
13. She must maintain logs of the following:
• Record keeping;
• Diagnostic assessments;
• Pre-treatment investigation;
• Treatment planning;
• Communicating full risks and benefits or proposed treatments;
• Informed consent;
• Referrals; and
• Availability of equipment.
14. The logs must be signed by her workplace supervisor.
15. The logs must be discussed with the workplace supervisor as part of the case-based discussions to be conducted twice each week.
16. She must provide a copy of these logs, to the GDC every three months and at least 14 days prior to any review.
17. She must provide a copy of her Personal Professional Development Plan (PPDP) to her workplace supervisor to be updated as necessary based on the case discussion carried out with her workplace supervisor.
18. She must provide a copy of her PPDP to the GDC every three months and at least 14 days prior to any review.
19. She must provide her workplace supervisor’s reports to the GDC at intervals of three months and at least 14 days prior to any review; these reports are to include full detail of the discussions, compliance with condition 8, address the areas listed in condition 12 and the PPDP and any action points resulting from the meetings with her supervisor.
20. She must inform within 7 days the following parties that her registration is subject to the conditions, listed at 1 to 18, above:
a. Any organisation or person employing or contracting with her to undertake dental work;
b. Any prospective employer (at the time of application); and
c. The Commissioning Body or Health Board in whose Dental Performers List she is included or seeking inclusion (at the time of application).
21. She must permit the GDC to disclose the above conditions 1-19 to any person requesting information about her registration status.
*Close Supervision: The registrant’s day to day work must be supervised by a person who is registered with the GDC in their category of the register or above and who must be on site and available at all times. As a minimum, the registrant’s work must be reviewed at least twice a week by the supervisor via one-to-one meetings and case-based discussion. These bi-weekly meetings must be focused on all areas of concern identified by the conditions/undertakings. These meetings must take place face to face.
**She may nominate more than one such supervisor to be approved by the GDC but if she does so, she must comply with each relevant condition in respect of all workplace supervisors.

Conditions:
1. She must inform the GDC within 7 days of her return to the UK. The following conditions can only be fulfilled in the UK and the monitoring of her compliance of these conditions will start from the date of her return.
2. She must notify the GDC promptly of any professional appointment she accepts and provide the contact details of her employer or any organisation for which she is contracted to provide dental services, and the Commissioning Body on whose Dental Performers List she is included or Local Health Board if in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
3. She must allow the GDC to exchange information with her employer or any organisation for which she is contracted to provide dental services, and any Postgraduate Dental Dean/Director, reporter, workplace supervisor or educational supervisor referred to in these conditions.
4. At any time she is providing dental services, which require her to be registered with the GDC, she must agree to the appointment of a reporter nominated by her and approved by the GDC. The reporter shall be a GDC registrant.
5. She must allow the reporter to provide reports to the GDC at intervals of not more than three months, and the GDC will make these reports available to any Postgraduate Dental Dean/Director, workplace supervisor or educational supervisor referred to in these conditions.
6. She must inform the GDC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against her, from the date of this determination.
7. She must inform the GDC if she applies for dental employment outside the UK.
8. She must forward a copy of her updated Personal Development Plan to the GDC within one month of the date on which these conditions become effective.
9. a. She must not carry out extractions unless directly observed by a GDC registered dentist, nominated by her and approved by the GDC in advance. This individual may be the same person as the reporter referred to in conditions (4) and (5) above.
b. She must maintain an audit detailing every case where she has undertaken extractions.
c. She must provide a copy of this audit to the GDC on a three-monthly basis, or, alternatively, confirm that there have been no such cases during that period. The audit(s) must be signed by the GDC registered dentist referred to at condition (9) (a) above.
10. She must inform within 1 week the following parties that her registration is subject to the conditions, listed at (1) to (9) above:
a. any organisation or person employing or contracting with her to undertake dental work;
b. any locum agency or out-of-hours service she is registered with or applies to be registered with (at the time of application);
c. any prospective employer (at the time of application);
d. the Commissioning Body in whose Dental Performers List she is included or seeking inclusion, or Local Health Board if in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland (at the time of application).
11. She must permit the GDC to disclose the above conditions, (1) to (10), to any person requesting information about her registration status.
Registration History:
At a review hearing on 18 November 2024 the Interim Orders Committee continued the conditions on Ms Caracuel Sanz's registration for the remainder of the 18 month order. The order was originally imposed from 7 June 2024.
This will be reviewed in 6 months.

At a review hearing on 21 January 2025, the Professional Conduct Committee revoked the suspension on Ms Caracuel Sanz's registration, originally imposed on 16 August 2024, and imposed conditions for 9 months. The Committee also imposed an immediate conditions order.
