Conditions:
1. He must notify the GDC within 7 days of any professional appointment he accepts for which GDC registration is required and the Commissioning Body on whose Dental Performers List he is included. 2. If employed, he must provide contact details of his employer within 7 days and allow the GDC to exchange information with his employer or any contracting body for which he provides dental services. 3. He must inform the GDC within 7 days of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination. 4. He must inform the GDC within 7 days of any complaints made against him from the date these conditions take effect. 5. He must inform the GDC if he applies for dental employment outside the UK within 7 days of making any application. 6. He must not engage in single-handed dental practice. 7. At any time he is employed, or providing dental services, which require him to be registered with the GDC, he must place himself and remain under the supervision* of a workplace supervisor nominated by himself and approved by the GDC. 8. He must allow his workplace supervisor to provide reports to the GDC every 3 months and at least 14 days prior to any review hearing. The workplace supervisor should provide information and/or feedback concerning: • Record keeping; • Assessment and diagnosis of caries; and, • Treatment of periodontal disease. 9. He must complete a log which must be signed by his workplace supervisor about the areas identified in Condition 8. 10. He must provide a copy of the log referred to in Condition 9 to the GDC every 3 months and at least 14 days prior to any review hearing. 11. He must at all times whilst he is providing dental services which require him to be registered with the GDC, work in the presence of another GDC registered dental professional. This professional can also be the nominated and approved Workplace Supervisor. 12. He must maintain logs of any patient that he examines or treats, which must be signed by the person or persons referred to in Condition 11 above, to confirm that he has not discussed with the patient direct payment to him by the patient or any financial institution. 13. He must provide a copy of the log referred to in Condition 12 to the GDC every 3 months and at least 14 days prior to any review hearing, or alternatively confirm there have been no such cases. 14. He must provide the person or persons referred to in Conditions 7 and 11 above with a copy of this determination. Evidence that this information has been provided to the persons referred to in Conditions 7 and 11 above must be forwarded to the GDC prior to any IOC review hearing. 15. He must not work as a locum or undertake any out-of-hours work or on-call duties. 16. He must inform within one week the following parties that his registration is subject to the Conditions, listed at 1 to 15, above: a) Any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake dental work; b) Any prospective employer at the time of application; and, c) The Commissioning Body in whose Dental Performers List he is included or seeking inclusion at the time of application. 17. He must permit the GDC to disclose the above Conditions, 1 to 16, to any person requesting information about his registration status. *Supervised: The registrant’s day to day work must be supervised by a person who is registered with the GDC in their category of the register or above. The supervisor need not work at the same practice as the registrant but must make himself/herself available to provide advice or assistance should they be required. As a minimum, the registrant’s work must be reviewed at least twice a week by the supervisor via one-to-one meetings and case-based discussion. These bi-weekly meetings must be focused on all areas of concern identified by the conditions. These meetings must take place face to face or by remote means.
Registration History:
At a review hearing on 10 December 2024 Interim Orders Committee continued the conditions on Mr Lord’s registration for the remainder of the 10 month High Court order. The was originally imposed on 15 April 2021 for 18 months. On 27 September 2022 the High Court extended the order for 12 months. On 22 September 2023, the High Court extended the order again for a further period of 12 months. On 30 September 2024 the High Court extended the order for the third time for a further 10 months.
