Conditions:
1. He must notify the GDC within 7 days of any professional appointment he accepts or is currently undertaking and provide the full name and contact details of his employer, any organisation for which he has a contract or arrangement to provide dental services and all the NHS regional teams/Health Boards with whom he has an arrangement, either as a contract holder or by being on their Dental Performers’ List.
2. He must allow the GDC to exchange information with his employer, any organisation for which he has a contract or arrangement to provide dental services, all the NHS regional teams/Health Boards with whom he has an arrangement.
3. From the date that these conditions take effect, you must inform the GDC must inform of any formal disciplinary action taken against you, including:
i. Any NHS investigation
ii. Any regulatory or enforcement action taken against you or a practice for which you are the registered provider.
iii. Any patient complaint received about your clinical practice or conduct at work.
4. From the date that these conditions take effect, he must inform the GDC within 7 days of any complaints made against him from the date these conditions take effect.
5. He must inform the GDC within 7 days if he applies for dental employment outside the UK from the day these conditions take effect.
6. He must inform the GDC if he is registered or applies for registration with any overseas regulator/relevant authority, within 7 days of the date of the application or 7 days from the date of the determination if already registered.
7. At any time he is providing services which require him to be registered with the GDC, he must place himself under the supervision* of a workplace supervisor nominated by him and approved by the GDC. The workplace supervisor shall be a GDC registrant in the same category of the register as the registrant or higher.
8. He must consent to and provide his workplace supervisor with access to his Dental SOE patient programme, so that his workplace supervisor can review his records remotely.
9. He must not start or restart work until his workplace supervisor has been approved by the GDC.
10. He must permit the GDC and the workplace supervisor to exchange information.
11. He must maintain logs of the following:
- Obtaining informed consent
- Examination practice
- Management of periodontal disease and aftercare practice
- Carrying out necessary medical history checks and ensuring all pre-existing medical conditions and medication/s are logged
- Prescribing of medication and adherence to Human Medicines Regulation 2012
- Record keeping relating to prescriptions, in accordance with GDC Standards
12. The logs must be signed by his workplace supervisor and submitted to the GDC every three months and 14 days prior to any review hearing.
13. The logs must be discussed with the workplace supervisor as part of case-based discussions which should take place at least fortnightly. All meetings with the workplace supervisor can be conducted remotely.
14. He must provide his workplace supervisor reports to the GDC at intervals of three months and at least 14 days prior to any review hearing. These reports should include full details of discussions with the workplace supervisor, a review of the logs, and any action points resulting from the meetings with his supervisor, focussing on the areas in Condition 11:
- Obtaining informed consent
- Examination practice
- Management of periodontal disease and aftercare practice
- Carrying out necessary medical history checks and ensuring all pre-existing medical conditions and medication/s are logged
- Prescribing of medication and adherence to Human Medicines Regulation 2012
- Record keeping relating to prescriptions, in accordance with GDC Standards
15. He must inform within 7 days the following parties that his registration is subject to the conditions; and provide written evidence to the GDC within 7 days of this being completed.
a) Any professional regulatory body his is registered with, or applies to be registered with (at the time of application).
b) Any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake dental work;
c) Any prospective employer (at the time of application); and
d) The Commissioning Body or Health Board in whose Dental Performers List he is included or seeking inclusion (at the time of application.)
16. He must not take on any out of hours/on call duties or work as a locum.
17. He must permit the GDC to disclose the above conditions 1 to 16 to any person requesting information about his registration status.
*supervised: the workplace supervisor must supervise the registrant’s day-to-day work in a way prescribed in the relevant condition or undertaking. The workplace supervisor does not need to work at the same practice as the registrant, but they must be available to provide advice or assistance if the registrant needs it. Where the workplace supervisor is unavailable through illness or planned absence, the registrant must not work, unless an approved alternative workplace supervisor is in place.
Registration History:
At a review hearing on 15 April 2025 the Interim Orders Committee varied and continued Mr Ramini's conditions, originally imposed on 28 January 2025, for the remainder of the 18 month order. This will be reviewed in 3 months.
